Very good handheld Gauss meter October 13, 2005 NanoMan (Nano Labs, USA) 28 out of 29 found this review helpful
I used this gaussmeter to check the magnetic fields for installing a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Fields over 0.5 Gauss can cause problems in imaging using SEM. This meter was of very good help in the preliminary check for the fields. Some times this meter was too sensitive but it is OK (cross calibaration using a multi-thousand dollar gauss meter by a professional).
At 75$, I strongly recommend this product for testing any fields as low as 0.5 gauss.
super easy, quite accurate and... fun! May 12, 2007 artemis taylor (Stavanger, Norway) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I ordered this very simple but reliable meter because I was worried about possible EM radiation at work (office window across from a wireless network antenna hidden in the adjacent corner building). From the first minute I got the Extech EMF meter out of the box I was using it continuously, learning what appliances and hidden objects are giving the most radiation. I even carry it on my bus commute to "map" EM radiation levels around town. It is fascinating to find the variations and be aware where levels are very high (buried electric cables and medical/police buildings). I am learning a lot about the "invisible" environment and it is certainly a conversation starter! (The office by the way turned out to be quite low in EM radiation, to my great relief:-)
EMF Meter May 19, 2008 Renee (Virginia USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I actually bought this product for paranormal research. While nothing spectacular has happened yet in that regard, I have found that my bed was positioned very close to my electrical box (which is outside my home). That had created a high EMF reading around the head of my bed. I have since moved my bed and am actually sleeping much better these days.
Nice piece of equipment March 11, 2007 Timothy P. Madrid (Hollywood Hills, CA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
The meter is a bit plain looking but does an excellent job. It is compact and works very well. Amazon beat everyones price. I paid just under $90.00. Some sites charge $149.00.
Well built and solid functioning June 19, 2008 Jon Almada (Shingle Springs, CA USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I used this meter in an investigation of the Brookdale Lodge near Santa Cruz - I've used it for other paranormal investigations with good results - Very good quality and simple functionality. I'm still using the same battery over a year later - Quality unit and I recommend highly.
