Product Description The Bosch 11224VSR SDS-Plus Bulldog Rotary Hammer Kit has a D-handle design that gives you more control — especially handy when drilling overhead or downward is necessary. The 11224VSR Rotary Hammer has three modes of operation — hammer only for light chipping applications with chisels, rotation only for drilling wood, steel and building materials with an optional chuck, and hammer/rotation for drilling concrete, brick, stone and masonry. The three-mode capability makes the 11224VSR an extremely versatile tool. Features: 360-degree auxiliary handle with built-in depth gauge for a wide range of movement along with consistent drilling depth D-handle design for extra control — ideal for overhead and downward drilling applications Double insulated, UL listed, complies to OSHA Integral clutch helps minimize torque reaction Multi-function selector for 3 modes of operation SDS-Plus bit system — tool-free bit changes with automatic bit locking, dust protection and maximum impact energy transfer rate Variable-speed reversing trigger for accurate bit starting, as well as removing fasteners or bound bits Vario-Lock positioning rotates and locks chisel into 36 different positions to optimize working angle What's In The Box: Bosch 11224VSR 3-Mode SDS-Plus Bulldog Rotary Hammer Auxiliary Handle - 1 612 025 032 Depth Gauge - 1 613 001 010 Carrying Case - 2 610 994 810

Factory-Reconditioned Bosch 11224VSR-46 7/8" SDS Rotary Hammer February 23, 2006 Robert T. Shelnutt 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was more than pleased when the unit arrived. I thought I hasd purchased a new unit. I immediately put it to work boring 10" deep x 3/4" holes in mature conceret and it perfromed flawlessly.
Purchase without hesitation. April 26, 2009 Bruce Q. (Chicago suburbs) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased one of these reconditioned "bull-dogs" wich I really like; for a smaller roto-hammer it really works great! I was a little worried about buying a reconditioned product, but it didn't have a single mark on it, came in a brand new case, and was "indestinguishable" from a new product.
I really baby mine at home, it's rarely used; but we really "man handle" one at work and it continues to perform great!
I also purchased one of those "SDS chuck adapters" from CPO Bosch (for about $50) which I would recommend, so that if necessary, an operator can use a non-SDS type drill bit.
Purchase without hesitation.

Bosch 11224VSR Factory-Reconditioned Rotory Hammer September 12, 2009 Brian C. Furumasu (Lake Oswego, OR) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been very pleased with this Bosch rotary hammer. As delivered, the external body was in like new condition with case. Most importantly, the drill made fast work of a number of 1/2 holes to a depth of 9 to 10 inches in concrete. I found it was best to use only moderate pressure to get the fastest drilling rate in the concrete - you can see the drill make visible progress into the hole. The drill gear box does get quite warm after 3 to 4 holes, so I let it cool down between sets.
Does the job that a hammer drill couldn't March 18, 2007 Greg Lindauer (Louisville) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
My 70 year old basement walls have "river rock" aggregate, including granite rocks an inch in diameter from the Ohio River basin.
A shelving contractor told me that his good hammer drill was "no good" at drilling holes for 1/4" wall anchors into it. He borrowed one of those 22 caliber shell hammers to shoot nails directly into the wall to mount the shelves.
I just bought a reconditioned 11224VSR at the least expensive price, and a couple 1/4" bits from one of the vendors here. When I used it to drill holes for a couple of anchors, it took less than a minute to do it. As a matter of fact, I didn't have the depth gauge (it is metal, not plastic) rotated correctly, and it slipped through (so watch out for that) the guide before I realized what was happening, so I ended up with a deeper hole than I intended very quickly.
I love this tool. I don't have a 1/2" hand drill, so I bought the 3 jaw chuck so I can use 1/2" bits, too.
good tools May 28, 2009 Pedro Rodriguez (Arizona USA) Always I say I like these tools because are the same as brand new and real chep cheper.- is better than buying outside no in the store I say like pawnshop or in yard sale
