Customer Reviews: Battery works great - must be inserted FIRMLY into charger. October 31, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I own the PowerSmith 4 piece 12v combo kit and have used these batteries. I can tell the other reviewer with almost complete certainty that if he inserts the battery FIRMLY INTO THE CHARGER until an audible click is heard, it will work fine. I realized this when I first used mine and did not have any problem. These are good, reliable batteries.
Maglithion Battery and Charger issue October 28, 2009 Lifeng Zhou Here is the solution from the manufacturer's customer service dept on battery and charger issue.
UPDATE: When charging the Mag-lith-ion battery you must push hard on top of the battery to make sure it is engaged fully in the charger for it to properly seat and begin the charging process.
Situation: A blinking Red light does indicate a defective battery, however we have found that most of the time the battery is just not seated fully in the charger. In those rare instances where this does not solve the problem, we have found that if the 3 metal connections on the bottom of the battery are adjusted to make sure all 3 are making contact in the charger, this corrects the situation.

Battery charged properly once. Now the red light just blinks. October 17, 2009 G. Cox (Shanghai, China) I don't know if it is the battery or the battery charger that is defective. It charged up properly the first time -- blinking red light eventually followed by a solid green light. But after using the battery in the toy vacuum cleaner accessory for a few minutes, the battery just blinks red forever.
Ok, but... February 10, 2010 BobK (Spokane, WA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm not a big fan of PowerSmith's selling its batteries and tools separately. I think if you buy a saw, drill, flashlight ot other tool, it should arrive ready to use. Where it looks like you may be getting a good deal on price, the savings evaporate when you realize that you have to spend more to make your purchase work. Personally I think the Black and Decker and other home oriented power tools are a better choice, but PowerSmith's devices do what they claim and points must be given for that.
