another excellent bosch blade
I'm building the interior of a sailboat and have needed a blade that leaves a clean edge on both sides of 1/4" to 2" marine or fir plywood, and also works well for plunge-cutting in the middle of a panel. Because it's long this blade works very well for plunging; with the orbit set on III(max) and the front feet held very firmly on the panel with the blade horizontal pointing down the cut line, VERY slowly lower the blade tip into the plywood. A medium speed (3) works best for me. Don't try to back out with the saw running. All you're after is an online cut all the way through about 2 inches long. Then drop the blade through it and saw out the opening. If you want to use the removed piece as a hatch-cover, radius the corners about 2.5" - they'll be close to perfect. Support the cover with 3/4" ply cleats.
