Customer Reviews
Fast, easy and nice results.
I originally bought the 4210 PC jig which only allowed me to route half blind dovetail. I really liked the jig and decided to invest a little more (I whish I bought the package with both template at first) and bought the through templet.
The setup is a little more difficult than the half blind one. It requires two passes, one for the pins and one for the tails. Each pass is done with a different router bit. This kit only provide the straight bit and assume you already have the actual dovetail bit provided with the 4210 PC jig. But overall the setup is fast and easy with a little training and as long as the router bits are sharp provide excellent results.
If you have a lot of joinery to do in one shot, I strongly suggest using two routers, this will allow you to keep the height adjustment and speed up your work.
This template also allows you to do box joints. I did try and it works but I find it more painful than doing it on the table saw. Also I found that the second steps which is to use the first piece to align the second piece with the template is not very accurate and often lead to small offset.
The main complain I have with this jig is that the bit provided wear off very fast (same with the dovetail one). I suggest ordering the bits from whiteside, they provide the approriate size and actully reference them PC jig.
