Customer Reviews
Be careful with this kit!!!
The 9/32" dovetail is VERY FRAGILE - when I tried cutting my first dovetail it broke within the first 1/4" of my first cut. I looked at the cut and determined it was not aligned PERFECTLY with the template, so when the bit tried to go into the template it bent the bit and it broke.
Porter Cable DOES NOT have this part on their price list as of the time of this post so you will have a useless tool if you make the slightest mistake with this kit.

Think Long, Think Hard before buying Porter Cable 4215 mini dovetail template
I purchased the Porter Cable 4212 dovetail jig and it works very good, though setting the depth with the supplied plastic molded screw adjustment is pretty hokey. HOWEVER, I make a large number of jewelry boxes and wanted to use the mini dovetail jig, 4215, on my Porter Cable jig. Big mistake! The 9/32 bit is very delicate and it broke after cutting about 80 gently guided cuts. The major problem came when I discovered this bit is ONLY available special order from Porter Cable! Well, I called Porter Cable and was politely told they had no bits, and would not have any for two months at least! It is absolutely incredible and unconscieceable that a company such as Porter Cable would produce a product that can only be used with bits they sell, and then not keep the bits in stock! BTW, Porter Cable is now owned by Black & Decker, which also owns Delta and DeWalt.

Simply, Great.
Absolutely essential for those "MINI" Dovetails. Again, the quality is there and appreciated. Follow the instructions, double check the set-ups, do the test peice, meet satisfaction and go for the gold. Very simple to adjust and get an almost perfect joint. A must have template to accomplish mini dovetails that you will be proud to show. Quality tools, as always, makes the difference. Treat yourself to one and "enjoy" the journey to your finished product.

Fast easy and accurate
I originally bought the 4210 PC jig which only allowed me to route half blind dovetail. I really liked the jig and decided to invest a little more and now have both the 4213 and 4215 accessories.
The setup is relatively easy. Half blind dovetial are easier than through dovetail. The later requires two passes, one for the pins and one for the tails. Each pass is done with a different router bit. This kit provide both the mini straight bit and the mini dovetail bit (both are 1/4 shank bits).
Both setup are fast and easy with a little training and as long as the router bits are sharp provide excellent results.
If you have a lot of through dovetail to do in one shot, I strongly suggest using two routers, this will allow you to keep the height adjustment and speed up your work.
This template (as well as the PC 4213) also allows you to do box joints. I did try and it works but I find it more painful than doing it on the table saw. Also I found that the second steps which is to use the first piece to align the second piece with the template is not very accurate and often lead to small offset.
