Customer Reviews
not well built
This is light and flimsy and doesn't seem like it would stand up to much repeated use. I just wanted to use it for storage and sent it back. My ex who is a construction worker would destroy it within days.

Stanley Consumer Storage 020800R FatMax 4-in1 Mobile Work Station for Tools and Parts
This tool storage box is just what we were looking for. We are restoring an old car and wanted something we could roll to where we are working to have the tools within reach. It is easy to use and has room for all of our hand held tools. The tools are now organized and within reach, and our workbench has been freed of all of the clutter. We looked a many tool boxes before buying this one. Several of our mechanic friends were also very impressed with it and asked where they could purchase one for themselves.

Fat Max box
I bought this for my wife Christmas of 07 for her scrapbooking stuff. She loves it and her friends envey her "bonus for me". It is so full it's almost to heavy for her.
The good side: It holds alot of stuff. When you get were you want to work, it opens to let you have access to everything.
Bad: When it gets heavy its a little ackward to pull.
Thats the one star diffence.

Grunt Grunt More Power!
Awesome!
This is the biggest, baddest, plastic traveling cabinet I have seen.
(There is the older all metal one with lift-off sections.)
What make this one cool is the heavy-duty sliding rails that allow me to sit with the front of the bottom section next to me and slide the top 2 sections forward or back to give access to the bottom and middle sections when it is "unlocked".
There is a metal lock release in the front of the top section. The one at my local Lowes store had been broken away from the plastic side mounts! I bought one anyway, assuming lots of idiots tried to open it wrong in the store! There are two long plastic rails on each side that can be pushed into a locking notch, or opened, allowing it to slide down the center of the rail.
I FILLED mine with over a 100 lbs of glass for traveling to/from my stained glass class! The big strong wheels and telescoping handle make it very comfortable to pull the large weight.
My personal sander stands too tall in the top section so the cool lift out tool tray with built-in handle can not be used. :-(
The middle section has a yellow divider in the middle of each of the 4 (4" wide) sections but I removed 3 of them to use the full 10 3/4" depth.
I bought mine on-line for the same price that it is in the store because I got free shipping and paid no tax!
I have to be careful to insure that the locks are securely snapped in place when I lift it into & out of my trunk or the lowest section will gap on one corner. There are no lift handles to pick it up horizontally, so I grasp the two pieces of square metal tubing on the back to lift this HEAVY container onto the ledge of my trunk. Probably not the best but it seems to be able to tolerate it well.
In short, I am the envy of my entire class, and others have expressed an intention to purchase one as well!

Neat idea and design , poor operation
I almost ordered one of these sight unseen after reading all the good reviews. I happened to be at Lowes and looked at one and I am glad I did. Although the size and design is theoretically quite good, the construction is a bit flimsy and the operation of the swing out is not good. To start with, the bottom did not meet the middle properly, so there was a misshapen gap. The bottom actually slides out as you try to swing it open, and it is far from smooth. Maybe I was doing something wrong but it is very clumsy. The hinge on the top seems quite flimsy also and I think if you put the tool tray out on it with any kind of weight, it will break before too long. The middle trays are quite nice and the top section covers them well. The latches are strong but again, quite clumsy. All and all, if this were about si-xty i would buy, but not at what they are asking. If they had made it more sturdy with a solid hinge and a better swing mechanism, I would even pay more than asking price cause the idea is certainly good. It's too bad. If you are considering buying one, definitely go look first.
