A completely ineffective tool!
I purchased this tool thinking that it would be faster than removing grout by hand. But it is not. It is extremely slow even with a full 1/8 inch carbide tip bit - not supplied. The included bit is even smaller. By hand, with a double bladed hand-held small grout saw I was able to remove 1/4 inch grout at a 3 feet per minute pace. With this tool, it takes ten times that.
In addition, the plastic base has two notches to guide the tool in the grout joint. But the grout grinds away these notches after about 10 minutes of work.
A completely ineffective tool! Sounds like a cool idea but a complete waste of money. Do yourself a favour and don't buy it.

bit works freehand
like several reviewers, I found the bit useful for freehand removal of grout but the attachment is awkward

Worked Like a Charm...Perfect tool for the job!
I had a plumbing leak and was pondering how I was going to remove the section of tile (about a 3'X3' section) on the wall behind the plumbing problem so I could get our shower valve and plumbing replaced. I spoke with a friend and he said what you need is a Drumel. He mentioned that they make a Grout Removal Kit which should be perfect for the job.
I read some of the reviews here and wasn't sure it would work or not since it worked for some and not for others. I purchased the Drumel and two spare bits just in case (I had read the reviews which mentioned broken bits).
After I got home I read the instructions on the Grout Removal Kit and made sure I understood how to properly use it. I did this because there was at least one review that mentioned that as long as you follow the instructions exactly it should work fine.
Then I cleared everything out of the room and put a drop cloth down as I read there would be a lot of dust. The grout I had to remove was about 1/4" wide so I made sure the additional bits I purchased were the large ones (1/8"). I followed the instructions making sure I only did 1/8" at a time and increasing by 1/8" each time I went over the grout. I also made sure I "pulled" the dremel to me and not pushed the bit forward. It took me about an hour and a half and I'm not sure how many times I went over the grout (increasing the depth each time) but this grout removal tool worked great. I did not break any bits. There WAS a lot of dust though but that only makes sense.
I highly recommend this kit if you need to remove some grout though if you have to remove an entire shower enclosure's worth of tile it would probably take some time.

Broke within 2 minutes
I purchased this in order to regrout a tiled tub surround. Since the regrouting was to be primarily cosmetic, I planned to only skim the surface of this soft grout, so figured I wouldn't encounter some of the problems I'd previously read in the reviews here. Wrong.
While the collar did keep the bit in place, that didn't keep the bit from breaking less than 2 minutes into the job...
Total waste of $20.

Dremel Grout Removal Accessory
The Dremel Grout Removal Accessory and included 1/16" blade worked with my 400XPR without any problem on my shower project. Following the enclosed directions allowed me to complete the job quickly without breaking the blade and giving me professional results. I did stop frequently to give the tool a chance to cool and to wipe excess grout dust off it. Perhaps its a little overkill, but I wore a mask, safety glasses, and gloves. Frequent vacuuming helped keep dust from spreading through the house.
