it works
this is a basic little battery tester, but it isn't very accurate. Some batteries read "okay" but really need a fresh charge. I would not recommend this product if you depend on accurate charge readings.

Great Self Powered Battery Tester
Tests all types of commonly used batteries including 9 Volt batteries. A little tricky to lift the arm up and line up the battery you are testing. So, if you have arthritis or a hand tremor this may not be the best device for you. Self powered so no battery required for operation. I bought several items together so i was able to use the super saver shipping option and not pay on shipping to make the price resonable. The tester is accurate enough to let you know whether a battery is good, low, or bad.
Enjoy !

bummer
The tester didn't work at all right out of the packaging, and was so inexpensive that I just tossed it rather than hassle with returns. The Amazon service is great, but I didn't want to bother; I needed it now, for work, so I went to the store and bought another.

Save on shipping
Radio shack sells the same product for the same price, so just buy it there and save on the shipping cost.

Simply the best
Here is what was needed: simple, robust tool to get the job done. This nails it. Not much else is needed. I went through 20 batteries this week, charged them all fully and then ran it through this tool. two were dead, so i disposed of them. It works!
