Product Description: This is a reconditioned power tool. Reconditioned generally means that the tool has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the tool back to like new condition. Some tools may contain cosmetic blemishes. DeWalt D21008K is a factory reconditioned heavy-duty 3/8" variable speed reversible drill. Armed with 6 Amps of power, 2500 RPM and the highest torque rating in its class, the D21008K is built to work hard and fast. The drill chuck offers extreme gripping power with a ratcheting lock feature. The two-sleeve design allows users to tighten down on bits with up to 15% more force. Serrated chuck jaws are used to bite into bits to prevent slippage, while the ratcheting lock prevents chuck sleeve from opening during use. The D21008K has the best-in-class ergonomics. The design offers optimal mix of weight, balance, comfort and power. The drill is designed with durability in mind. This is a great drill, especially at the reconditioned price. Looked like new, with a new box. Like the ratcheting chuch.

This seems like a pretty good drill so far. Note:
1. It is unclear from the description, but the refurbished drill does not come with any drill bits.
2. Sometimes refurbished items come like new, sometimes they're a little worse for the wear... mine is a little beat up and dirty, but overall works fine.
3. This drill is not overly loud like some.
4. It is very easy to ramp up the speed - the drill handles this well.

I have used this drill motor for years now in my construction business. Powerful and lasts a long time. It does not lug down. I have 11 in the field now.

Excellent drill for the price! Broke down after 2 uses. Took it to the DeWalt service center, where they found that the reconditioning had not been thorough in checking all potential problems, but they repaired it with no charge when I brought my purchase receipts with me.
