Product Description: Tired of living in a disposable world? Then check out the Drill Doctor 750X drill bit sharpener. This cleverly designed, easy-to-use tool gives new life to old, dull bits. It accepts bits ranging in diameter from 3/32 inch to 3/4 inch and works somewhat like an electric pencil sharpener: Tighten a dull drill bit into the removable chuck, then insert the chuck into the sharpener. Inside is a (replaceable) diamond wheel that quickly sharpens the bit tip. There are two preset positions for honing the two most common drill-bit tip angles: 118 degrees and 135 degrees.

The Drill Doctor 750X will sharpen high-speed steel twist bits, carbide-tipped masonry bits, and titanium-coated bits. It will even sharpen split-point bits and create split-points from standard bits. It comes with a blow-molded storage case, detailed owner's manual and an instructional DVD. 4 stars Great but flawed
The thing works great for the most part but it could be constructed with a bit more attention to quality. For example, there is a knob that you turn to adjust the depth of cut off the bits, but the knob does not have incremental stops and just floats freely. The vibration of the machine or brushing it with your hand will turn it so you must reset it every time you insert a bit into the depth gauge. Very irritating. Also I would have made the contacting faces of the machine and bit holder out of metal instead of plastic. After extended use the plastic faces start to gaul each other. Aside from the shortcomings I've sharpened over 200 bits and I'm glad I bought it.

5 stars Drill bit sharpener
After using my neighbors machine I purchased the top line Drill Doctor.
What a great job it does for me.
As a former machinist I highly recommend this machine.
It's very hard for anybody to get such a precise grind & angle that this machine produces.

4 stars Driil Doc 750
I found this product easy to use-as a professional mechanic,I need sharp drill bits almost every day. This doctor does what it says it will do-I still needed to learn how to set it up properly,so watch the DVD that comes with it-also,amazon provided the best price around and i really checked too.

4 stars renew those 1/2" to 3/4" drill bits and save
I am a hobbyist that likes to fabricate parts for my automotive interest as well as build shop equipment or other structures from mild steel. In doing so I use a lot of larger drills in the ½" to ¾" variety. If you have ever bought any of these you know how expensive they can get. After ruining some of them while building various projects it was getting expensive. I figured if I could save the cost of just a few drills then the drill doctor would pay for itself. I have not been disappointed and it has renewed those useless drills. The action used to sharpen the bit requires you to turn the bit by hand using a supplied "chuck" fixture that works with a jig to perform the angle at which the bit gets sharpened. This mating of the chuck and jig can allow you to wobble the bit while turning it by hand, however by using both hands I was easily able to control the movement to get good results. The actual jig probably wouldn't allow you to mess up the bit but it does seem a little less accurate than what it could be. It has a small compartment to catch the material from the bit while it's being sharpened but it is marginal at best due to how fine the waste material is. The other thing I notice was how loud it was. I used ear protection just because the wine of the high rpm motor had just the right pitch to be somewhat objectionable especially since you must turn the chuck a lot with larger bits. All this aside, the drill doctor was easy to set up and use. It has easily sharpened bits that would otherwise have been thrown away. They seem to cut well after sharpening them and now I can save some of the money I was using on new bits.

5 stars Very easy to use
The big brown truck dropped off my 750x today. It took longer to open the packaging than it did to learn how to use the Drill Doctor. I'll never suffer with a dull bit ever again!
