Avg Customer Rating:
Product Description: You can tell from the price that this is not the choice for industrial-grade users, but it's a decent enough hose for the home woodworker who's using a wet-dry vac or small dust-collection system. We like that it's so flexible, turning corners in a small shop without struggle. And we like that it retracts to a fraction of its extended length, saving lot of space. We wouldn't recommend connection to a larger dust-collection system, though, because the material is not rigid enough to withstand a huge amount of suction. Though we didn't experience any collapse during suction, we think it's possible with a larger machine. Still, it's a nice, sturdy hose for the home woodworker, and the price is right.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Great Equipment Hose
While I wouldn't recommend this product for use on a general dust collector installation, you won't find a better product for connecting your equipment to the system.
The soft hose is ideal for hooking up the equipment wherever you put it without having to adjust the equipments location to accomodate a stiff hose. In particular, I used it on a Performax Drum Sander with fantastic results. The ability of this hose to fully collapse allows me to stack the hose in a single compact column on top of the machine when not in use.
You also can't beat the price!

Worth the price....
This hose is worth the price, its not heavy duty but your getting 50ft so for a small to medium size shop you will be happy with it. To me it's a little thicker than a dryer vent hose just to give you an idea.

Works just fine for me
After reading the reviews on this hose, I closed my eyes and hit the one-click purchase button. I had to have something, I gave it a shot.
I am not disappointed with it. It is not very rigid, but it is substantial enough to pull dust through to a portable collector. Trying to get the rigid 4-inch hoses everybody else makes to move around to my different machines was akin to wrestling an alligator in a phone booth. This one you just snatch up, walk over to the machine of you choice, and stick it on. Bends around corners, stretches, all easy. I adapted a 2 1/2 inch hose and tools from the shopvac and I use it for all of the vacuum chores in the shop. Floors included. To get it out of the way, just put the opening against your chest and choke the airflow. It will draw up like a turtle pulling its head in a shell.
The rigid hoses are substantial, and if you were going to put a permanent system in, they would be the correct choice. But for a utility system that needs portability, this hose will work fine.
By the way, I have already stepped on it and to my surprise it didn't hurt it a bit.
UPDATE: three months and still working fine with no problems. HOWEVER, I suggest that you get a 4 inch keyed hose clamp. Keyed means it has a little flat tab where the screwdriver usually goes. You can tighten or loosen with your fingers. Then just slip the hose over the exhaust outlet of a machine, turn the key a time or two and it hangs on like a bad reputation. No more shaking loose in the middle of a cut. Amazon has these clamps, so does Woodcraft.

good enuf
very flexible , long hose, almost too flexible for what i need.
when you apply a vaccum, it shrinks up and pulls some.

Strong and decent hose
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1VXD9E98EG243 I have quite a bit of this hose in my shop. I use 4 inch thin wall PCV sewer and drain pipe for the bulk of dust collection piping, and use this flexible hose from the blast gate to the machine. This hose is strong. Looks like dryer vent hose, but it's NOT!
In the attached video, you can see the hose connected to my router table. In this video, I make mortises on the router table using my foot-activated Motorized Router lift.
The Motorized Router lift allows me to bring the router bit up into the work piece to make effective mortises on the router table.
I have developed the world's first foot-activated motorized router lift. By motorizing the raise and lower action of the router, it enables operations never before possible with a standard router table.
In general, working with a table-mounted router is safer, more accurate, and provides for improved dust collection. Adding a foot-activated router lift opens up the possibility to perform additional operations that were not possible, or as safe, without one. For the small investment in time and materials, your router table can be transformed into an efficient mortising machine with features that rival that of expensive specialty machines.
