Customer Reviews
Portable and dependable
I brought this table saw last fall for a upcoming project, since then I have used it on a weekly basis. I have had good luck with Skil tools in the past. Since this saw is used primarily as a jobsite saw the fact that the saw weighs less than 50lbs was something that I considered initally and I paid a little over $100 for it..The fence has worked without any issue. To be honest, I have not had the first problem with the saw. I have ripped, mitered, and dadoed with this saw. The only reason that I didn't give it five stars is that it doesn't have a dust port. I have gotten my money's worth out of this saw several times..

No Stand
The saw arrived fine but I never received a stand. It was supposed to come separately, but never arrived. BEWARE!

low quality, but okay for ripping lumber
This saw is pretty poorly made. Even after following the instructions for adjusting the blade so it is parallel to the fence, the blade is at a bit of an angle, only about half a degree or so, but it can not be made to be perfectly parallel to the fence. The adjusting slots underneath the table are not machined properly. And the cheapo mechanism for attaching the blade guard almost guarantees that the wood being cut will hit the guard.
As I already have a Dewalt DW715 compound miter saw, I only use this Skil table saw for ripping long pieces... I use the Dewalt for all other cuts. My Dewalt handles with the precision of a sports car. This Skil saw is more like an old station wagon with bad suspension. It works okay for my limited needs to rip lumber somewhat accurately, which is why I didn't send it back... but it only works if you don't install the blade guard, otherwise it wouldn't be able to cut. Not using the blade guard is not safe, so I can't recommend this saw to anyone else.
