Product Description: The IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser is designed to accurately measure temperature from a distance. Simply pull the trigger and aim the pistol grip thermometer at an object using the laser indicator and the unit will provide an accurate temperature measurement in less than a second. The IRT0421 has an advanced highly accurate infrared sensor with a Distance to Spot Ratio of 12 to 1. It uses two AAA batteries instead of the 9-volt battery commonly found in less capable units. With its low voltage application-specific integrated circuit , battery life is increased by up to 60%. This infrared thermometer provides accurate readings over a broad range of temperatures from -76 to 932 Degrees Fahrenheit (-60 to 500 Degrees Celsius) with a 0.1 Degree resolution. It displays both the current temperature and maximum temperature on the bright backlit LCD display. Advanced ergonomic design and rugged construction for industrial environments, the IRT0421 comes with a nylon holster for easy storage and transportation. Good Product
I purchased this Infrared Thermometer to make checks on the temperature of a wood fired outdoor oven. The product works very reliably and can read the temperature of different parts of the oven dome. The range of temperature readings allows easy determination of when the oven is ready for quick cooking Pizzas (850 F.) or for slower cooking of breads (450 F.)or roasting meats (375 F.).

This is one very handy tool at a nice price.
First, the display is backlit and very readable inside, but just a bit faint outside in bright daylight. It fits the palm of the hand better than other devices belonging to friends I've tried, and provides sturdy, dependable, and accurate information indoors.
I bought mine to check for temperature leaks for recaulking and insulating my house, but I am astounded to how useful it is indoors. First, in the kitchen, check that oven temperature or the outside of the loaf of bread you are baking. I bought mine for that, although remember what other writers have said about how large an area you may be measuring relative to the laser pointer.
In your home entertainment cabinet, check the air temperature around your receiver and other gear -- you may find out that it's getting warmer than you want -- and you'll see the consequences of leaving that power on. Same with your PCs -- check the output temp of the fans on your laptop. If you want to know if your A/C is working properly, a quick shot up to the output baffle will confirm the temp of the cold air coming out there -- no more getting a ladder or stool to hold your hand up to it and guess. Check food temperature in the kitchen, including your freezer or fridg, and make sure you and your family are safe. I am sure there are dozens, if not hundreds of uses for this gadget around your home, workshop, office, and kitchen.

Kintrex infrared thermometer
KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser
It sounds very handy but practical use is not that satisfying. I tried it in cooking jam and had the temperature fluctuate all over the place, it did not help me. The same problem on finding the temperature of a pan when frying eggs. Also tried it on a heated oven and got more stable readings.

KINTREX IRT0421 laser thermometer
This is a product I purchased to keep an eye on my inside rear dual tire temps, on my motorhome. This thing works GREAT !! I find myself looking at things like my radiator temp, power steering unit, batteries, and on, and on. I recommend this to anyone needing to know critical temps on ANYTHING. It's also fun to screw around w/the cat !
