Customer Reviews
Great Sharener
This is a great product and works better then I expected. Sharpens the knife very fast and with a razor's edge. The best part it no batteries or electrical outlet required.

Perfect for large kitchen cutlery
I have recently bought one from a store long, long after I bought one of there smaller DCS4 combo stones. I was thoroughly impressed with diamond stones ware resistance (years of regularly sharpening box cuter type blades and still almost like new). This one seems to be a perfect match for any large blade (I think it can handle up to a one foot knife just fine). It's cheap!!! I have seen all metal versions from deferent makers retail over $120, that should tell you something right there! Now this is not a honing steel it's a how you say a "prep" steel. Meaning it will give a nice finished edge to further hone/smooth if you wanted to go that far. If you want that ultra smooth, surgical edge you might want to look into buying a ceramic one as well or do like I do and use a cheap leather belt just like a barbers strop (it actually dose a pretty good job at smoothing the edge). That's not to say it will aggressively sharpen your knife but it wont give you that straight razor type edge ether. As long as your good at keeping a consistent angel and your remember to use water or mineral oil for a lubricant this one will perform well and last a vary long time...
