Customer Reviews

5 stars Great Stapler
I have had this stapler for over 10 years. It's great! I replaced my slap stapler, which jammed all the time. The Bostitch H30-8 is a winner - no jams, it just works. If you want a great tool for installing insulation, this is it.

4 stars Simple, never jams, durable.
Only reason why 4 and not 5 stars is difficulty in getting staples. I put up a 24 x 36, 3-car, two-story garage this summer - me and a crew of 4 hispanic folks doing the house wrap and felt. Had two of these and an Arrow slapper. These were easier to load when on a ladder, and the HOLSTER is simply a must. Very light tool. The only bad thing is that I started to run out of Bostich staples and could not find more in town, which led me to buy the Arrow. The Arrow was good in that if you occasionally didn't drive the staple in all the way, you could flip the head around and use it as a real hammer. However, the lack of a holster and the difficulty of reloading while balanced high on a ladder meant that the Bostich was much more useful.

4 stars A simple, reliable design.
We have been using these to attach house wrap and builder's paper on walls and roofs. They have proven very reliable. You do have to be careful not to swing too hard or you can punch right through the paper but there has been no problems with the staples not driving fully.
The holster is handy but it would be nice if it also had a pouch for a box of staples.
The Big Box stores don't carry the STCR5019 staples anymore so you will have to order through Amazon or go to a construction fastener specialist.

1 stars disallusioned handymen
this is one of the most depressing products that bostitch has ever released- stand alone, it's not horrible, but all it is is a glorified desk stapler that is weighted. to the guy who wrote the review just prior to this one, who mentioned that his h2bs are gathering dust, please send them to me. that is a superior bostitch product. this slap tacker doesn't completely drive the staples when you're trying to move quickly across some #15 felt and only takes one clip at a time. if you're trying to do some serious work, go on ebay and find one of the discontinued h2b staplers- i'm under the impression that product was discontinued because it was overengineered and lasts too long. if you're trying to put up flyers for the senior prom, or the girl scouts car wash fundraiser, this is the stapler for you.

5 stars Good product
I purchased this item for a carpenter that I sometime work for. He gave me his Arrow hammertacker becuase it always jammed.Your product has been jam free since he has had it (2 years). I used his old stapler today while working off of a 28 foot ladder. It worked so well that I threw it to the ground and decided to order 2 of them , one for me and one for him (he left his on a job).
