Avg Customer Rating:
Product Description: The Milwaukee 0724 Cordless 28 Volt 1/2 in. Hammer-Drill uses the Milwaukee built high power motor to develop an enormous 600 in. lbs. of maximum torque and 0-600/0-1800 rpm, ideal for drilling larger holes and driving larger screws faster! Powering the 0724 is the revolutionary 28 Volt Lithium-Ion battery pack exclusively from Milwaukee. The 28 Volt battery pack weighs less than an 18 Volt pack yet delivers two times the run-time, making this the ideal solution for all drilling and driving needs! Only the Milwaukee battery can be inserted in the reverse position which allows for the ultimate balance when working overhead or in hard to reach areas. The 0724 comes standard with a 1/2 in. all-metal, single-sleeve, ratcheting chuck with all carbide jaws that keeps bits from falling out and drill bits from slipping! This is the industry's tightest gripping chuck and comes standard only on the 0724. A comfortable non-slip, soft-grip handle reduces vibration and fatigue. The 0724 also comes standard with the patented Clip-Lok System. The Clip-Lok System attaches securely to the operator's belt or tool bags and easily releases with one hand, ideal when working from a ladder or when there is nowhere to place the tool when adjusting or positioning a work piece. The Clip-Lok System keeps the drill within arms length at all times. The Clip-Lok System also features an on-board bit holder which holds up to two standard Phillips bits.

Amazing drill
I'm a commercial electrician and use this drill daily. Sometime for hours at a time. It has a ton of power. So much in fact it will darn near break your wrist if what you are drilling catches the bit and turns the drill when you least expect it. I'm constantly using large bore step bits to drill into steel j-boxes, door frames, etc. It's perfect. I have 3 other cordless drills and they stay at home. This is the only one I take to the job site with me every day. I'm so hard on this thing. I use it and use it hard. I have no clue what Consumer Reports could have possibly done to break it. I've used it so hard the drill body was too hot to rest your palm on and it didn't even smell. I've dropped it off a 10 foot step ladder onto concrete, picked it back up and used it the rest of the day. I've owned it 8 months and have put it through more than most people will in a lifetime and it's still going strong. I can't say enough about how extremely durable it is.
On the hammer setting it will drill 1/4" holes in block but that's about it, so don't expect much from the hammer setting if you have anything heavy-duty to drill. I use the Milwaukee 28v cordless SDS hammer drill for 99% of my hammer drilling anyway. (that drill is a superb hammer drill BTW)
As far as the other reviewers rating the drill down, READ THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION!. Under the caption "What's in the box", it says one hammer drill! That's it! READ next time you fools!

Milwaukee 28v Hammer Drill
I purchased the "bare tool" because I have some v28 batteries, I like them because they stay charged on the shelf (within reason). This drill broke in Consumer Reports testing of hammer drills. Also, it is made in China. Performed very well in drilling concrete block for anchors. The side handle is the best yet of Bosch, DeWalt, Makita that I own. It is easily adjustable and stays put.

The best brand
Milwaukee is the best among all other so called industrial brands.
It has the best design, durability, and inter-changeable battery among other Milwaukee lines.
I originally found this to be a bit expensive, but gradually, I started to found the long term benefits of owning the best tools and I now would strongly recommend this brand and its tools to peers who are into DIY stuff.

if you understand what you get...
this drill is perfect. as much power as almost any corded drill (not a hole shooter/hawg etc though). if you realize that this doesn't come iwth batteries then it can be perfect for you. if you already have a few kits and 6 batteries like i do sometiems having an extra drill is nice so you can have two (pre-drill and then drive?) the hammer drill is nice, but for anything big or a lot of holes use a rotary hammer, this thing will wear out and you don't want to wreck your drill!
