Best electric screwdriver I own
I have two 18volt DeWalt screwdriver/drills, a 14volt DeWalt screwdriver/drill and a useless electric screwdriver I bought at Costso. This drill outperforms all the DeWalts. It lasts long, screws hard torque screws better and the flashlight is a great bonus - VERY BRIGHT.
I bought this based on a Tool Review that rated it highest, and was very sceptical - really - a Panasonic tool - how good could that be. I can say I'm very happy and highly recommend this product!

Silky smooth and unbelievable torque
Went into my local professional tool supplier with the full intent of buying a DeWalt 18V lithium ion drill/driver combo. After trying it out, the sale rep suggested I should try out the Panasonic which he felt had a smoother trigger. It was also the one he personally owned. He was right...there was no comparison. From the slowest to fastest speeds, the control was exceptionally smooth. Both the drill and the driver are lighter than the DeWalt, and the power and torque ratings are essentially the same even at 14.4V.
Using the drill with a 2" hole saw going through 3/4" oak plywood, I had the clutch fully off...and made the mistake of not holding the drill really tight...almost pulled it clean out of my hand at one point. Lesson learned.
The only knock I've heard about these tools is they're fairly brittle if dropped. So, I'll be careful.
Don't get me wrong...I'm not biased against DeWalt. I own and love a number of DeWalt tools, and will continue to be a fan. It's just in this case, I think I bought better. I'm absolutely delighted with these tools...only wish there were more Panasonic tools that worked with the 14.4V batteries.
